If you’ve come here from Fluff and Fripperies, welcome! I’ve been making pretty with a few new favourites, but mostly relied on old gems. Here are my top five for April.
I’m revisiting Roger and Gallet Fleur De Figuier perfume, €39.75. I associate all of summer 2013’s best memories with it, and the scent itself is refreshing take on traditional spring notes.
Floral, fruity and a little bit zesty, it stands out from other delicate fragrances in the best way.
Sigh sigh sigh. My Dior Color Reviver Lip Balm in Coral, €33, is nearly gone. I predicted as much when I first reviewed it, but the reality is sinking in – I’ve flown through it.
I’m scrambling to think of ways I can make use of the tube once I run out – holding on to stuff like this is a must when the rest of your life is as glamorous as Penneys knickers showing through cotton leggings – but can’t find my inner upcycler. Hoarders, share your tips!
Design appreciation aside, this is a beautiful balm. The wash of colour stains, the finish is a flattering gloss and the texture is comfortable, so you can understand why I’ve been reaching for this above all other lip products.
Clinique Cheek Pop in Plum Pop,€20, has the best texture of any blush that I’ve used. It adds a flush of colour (or full on block of pink, if you’re as application enthused as I am) without altering the finish of your foundation. Altogether absolutely brilliant, my favourite of my favourites.
Peeking out in the above pix is Barry M Flawless Matte Finish Foundation, €9.19. It’s just easy – goes on with no faff, provides enough coverage to skip concealer and lasts all day. Hats off, Mr. M.
Those with champagne tastes on a cider budget should check out NYC Individual Eyes in Midtown Mauve, €3.99. Sophisticated-lady shades of taupe, pearly pink and aubergine make for a palette that punches way above its price point.
I take my unskilled hands and whack this on with invariably good results – shout out to the subtle shimmer and light pigmentation for that achievement. Other colour options are available, but this is my pick.
Anything rocking your world this month?

I’m adoring Plum Pop too!
