Best Body Butters for Dry Skin – New Season Launches

Lorraine_Haigney 21st May 2014

I’m stepping up my body care with the some of the best body butters for dry skin. ‘Tis the season to not constantly wear opaque tights and oversized cardigans, after all.

Aveda Stress Fix Body Cream Moisturiser

Aveda Stress Fix Body Cream

Aveda Stress Fix Body Cream, €47.50 via Debenhams, is perfect. Honestly perfect. It’s rich but easily absorbed and hydrates thoroughly.

Its lavender scent is fresh and a little bit sweet, standing out from the stuffy or musky floral scents of yesteryear.

Soap and Glory Orangeasm

I reviewed Soap and Glory Orangeasm, €14.95 via Boots.ie, in full because it’s my favourite of the new season body butters.

Its scent is a mouth-watering citrus punch and its effects are second to none. My skin feels like I’ve gone through some heavy exfoliating, shaving and oiling steps after a quick application – something that I, the laziest gal in the land, wouldn’t do if you paid me.

Best Body Butters for Dry Skin

Nuxe Refreshing After-sun Lotion for Face and Body

Nuxe Refreshing After-sun Lotion, €18.95 via Cloud10 Beauty, is a nourishing after-sun cream that hydrates and prolongs your natural tan. It’s lighter than the other body butters I’ve picked, so a great option for whacking on after a long day of doing nothing on a deck chair.

The sent is a soft, milky floral – not overpowering but  very soothing.

Roger and Gallet Gingembre Sorbet

Roger and Gallet Gingembre Sorbet, €15.00, is a light, rapid absorbed body lotion with a quirky scent – like a bunch of flowers and a packet of ginger nut biscuits, it’s different but lovely.

It won’t moisturise as deeply as some of the richer butters listed, but it’s much faster at soaking in. Lose some, win some.

Garnier Ultimate Beauty Oil Lotion

Garnier Ultimate Beauty Oil Lotion, €6.49 or  €4.39 via Boots.ie, is a budget option with a luxe feel. It’s infused with nourishing oils, making it deeply hydrating despite its lighter consistency.

Its scent is similar to the Nuxe after-sun lotion, soft and delicate but warm and comforting.

That’s my lot! What’s your spring/summer body care routine?

Do you know I’ve been checking the Boots website every day hoping the S&G body butter will pop up cause town is too hot for me so I can’t be arsed going in? You have me obsessed with buying it and the matching fragrance cause I can’t get enough of citrus scents and I adore their Sugar Crush body butter so much! It will be mine!
