After a few weeks of reviews, we’ve finally got through the first batch of the best budget pale foundations. There are plenty more to come, but here’s the overview of the highs and lows so far.
If one catches your eye, just click the foundation names below to read the full review and see pictures of it applied.
Rimmel Match Perfection, €9.95 – currently on sale for at €4.95 at Boots.ie
Match Perfection is the altogether grand foundation of this bunch. Like I said in the full review, it’s a no-fuss pale foundation with a radiant finish and medium coverage.
No jazz or pomp, but no shame in just being a great foundation either.
Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation, €7.95 via Boots.ie
Stay Matte is an unusual but gorgeous mix of light coverage with a matte finish. This is great for staying on top of oil without looking too done up – very beach and beer garden appropriate.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation, €14.99
Healthy Mix serum is like a fancier Rimmel Match Perfection. It’s got that same creamy texture and glowing finish, but this one comes with a skin care boost – leaving my skin hydrated for longer.
Of the bunch, this is my favourite for concealing dark circles. Its coverage is medium, but the serum texture makes for cake-free setting. Very flattering if you’ve got fine lines to disguise.
Barry M Flawless Matte Finish Foundation, €9.19 via Boots.ie and selected Boots Stores
I didn’t think I could like anything that wasn’t cats or food this much. Barry M Flawless Matte Finish Foundation is the business.
Its thin consistency makes blending a cake walk, so you can build coverage where it’s needed and buff lightly over better areas.
Despite ‘matte’ being in the title, it’s doesn’t look flat or set dry – it leans more natural than anything.
Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation, €13.99
Lazy friends, I got you. Revlon Nearly Naked is very runny, and offers light to medium coverage, so it’s quick and easy to slap on.
The final effect is dewy and natural, looking like you’ve got really good skin, not just really good foundation.
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, €10.99
Pink toned and very pale, Wake Me Up is the lightest shade I’ve found in the budget range.
It’s another one for dry skins – creamy in texture with a subtle glow.
And that’s it! The first chunk of the best budget pale foundations for my ghost-faced friends. There’s more to come, after a quick break for a look at the other niceries I’ve been hoarding.
Let me know what your perfect shade match is in the comments!
