The series of affordable pale foundation reviews continues with another good ‘un – Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation, €14.99.
A skin care-cosmetic hybrid, this glides on like gel serum but covers like foundation. Win win!
I’ve been buffing it in with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush for natural, seamless coverage. It sets with a satin finish – a happy medium between oil-controlling matte and skin-plumping luminosity.
All the niceries about Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation are especially good around the eye area – its texture allows for heavy, dark-circle concealing application without looking like you’d reverse panda’d yourself.
Dry patches ain’t no thang at all, but you’re going to have to powder away oiliness if you’re prone to it.
Shade range starts and ends at the lighter end of the spectrum. Mine is 51 Light Vanilla, a yellow-toned porcelain.
Altogether, a lovely foundation. In fact, I would have been happy if the YSL Youth Liberater Serum Foundation was half the base this fella is – and that cost, like, a billion quid.

I have a couple matte foundations coming up, they’d be just the ticket and are all under a tenner!
I get oiler in the summer, it’s such a pain to leave the house looking grand and arrive home looking like you’ve been bobbing for apples in Baby Oil.

I’ve never tried any Bourjois products, but it seems to work, the result is nice on you. I’ve 2 foundation, one is the Extra Firming foundation by Clarins and the other one the Vichy Teint Ideal, the first for the winter (the colour is perfect for my skin tone) the second for summer (maybe a little bit darker) =)
