Charlotte Tilbury Sexy Sienna Swatch + Review

Charlotte Tilbury Sexy Sienna Lipstick, €30. No press samples featured.

Beauty brands are clamouring over themselves to launch lipsticks with modern matte textures. Because let’s face it, as bold and beautiful as matte lip colour is, even the best originals can be tricky to work with.

Now, we’re getting the same high-impact finish in much more comfortable, wearable formulations. Today, we’re looking at the Charlotte Tilbury take on the new matte – Matte Revolution Lipstick in Sexy Sienna.

About twenty minutes after I tried it on for the first time, I was googling swatches of the others in the range. Head (partially coated with nice lipstick) over heels. Totally over the crap service at the counter, totally willing to ignore it so I could do a smash and grab with a zillion other colours.

You get full colour in a single swipe. That’s good, because this is one thick lippy. It feels dense, but in a rich, comfortable way. Moisture feels refined, like it’s taking care of your lips without added gloop or shine.

The finish is matte, with flecks of glitter running through. Up close, like, very close, you see ’em for what they are. From a few feet away, they blend in, only twinkling with subtly that makes for fuller-looking lips.

That’s another point to note; I was sceptical as hell about the promise of matte lips that look full, but this delivers. Whether it’s the softness of the finish, as opposed to fully flat matte, the shimmer, the blend of emollients isn’t clear to me. But hey, it works.

Longevity is impeccable. It wears so well, and when it does fade, it’s gradually goes with no patchiness. Topping up isn’t an issue either. That moisture mentioned above works wonders. I can wear this all day and not end up gasping for balm – a feat that’s hard to achieve, even in non-matte lipsticks.

It is expensive, but you can see what your money is going towards. Beautiful packaging, gorgeous finish and comfort beyond what most lipsticks provide. A splurge, but well worth it.

Charlotte Tilbury lippies are so dreamy. This looks fab on you. I’m trying to stick to a spending ban but I only have to think of CT and I feel a little weak at the knees 🙂

I love this lipstick range too. They are so different from anything else on the market. I’m eyeing up Love Liberty myself next.

Oh Lorraine, this is gorgeous on you. I have Lost Cherry but now Sexy Sienna is next on my hitlist!

Lost Cherry was the one they gave to me when I asked for Sexy Sienna. I was tempted to keep it and not swap, gorgeous shade!

Sexy Sienna looks beautiful on you! I love CT matte line, I have six shades and love them all. If you’re looking for a good lipstick shade for fall try Glastonberry or Love Liberty, they’re both really nice berry shades.

I am making a list of CT’s lipsticks to try. I’m not too keen on her eyeshadow quads but her lipsticks look and sound absolutely worth the money.

I’m always a little wary of matte lipsticks but this sounds amazing and the colour is beautiful on you.
