Charlotte Tilbury Walk of Shame Matte Revolution Lipstick Review, Swatch

Lorraine_Haigney 2nd December 2015

Charlotte Tilbury Walk of Shame Matte Revolution Lipstick, €30. No press samples featured.

I might as well set up a direct debit from my bank account to Charlotte Tilbury’s. Although, in fairness, this addition to my  Matte Revolution Lipstick collection was a present.

I was ranting to my boyfriend about how some Charlotte Tilbury lipstick names sound like Law and Order: SVU titles, and not in a good way. Walk of Shame was the moniker I picked on the most, saying that it was a beautiful colour, but that I’d never buy it. I mean, jeez, for €30, I want to feel the fantasy. Walk of Shame calls to mind somebody else’s deodorant and torn hosiery, not a luxe lipstick. No thank you.

But then yes, thank you, because my boyfriend bought it for me. Really. He half listened to the rant, so ‘beautiful, but I’d never buy it’ came out like ‘beautiful, bloop bloop bloop buy it’.

I swear, this is the kind of shit I’ll hold against him when I need to justify going on that date that with Michael Fassbender, when he asks me to go on it. And he totally will, because look at my lipstick:

Bond Girl Walk of Shame Comparison Swatch

Anyway, plotting an affair aside, I am loving the b’jayus out of Charlotte Tilbury Walk of Shame Matte Revolution Lipstick. I think, if I hadn’t overlooked it because of its terrible name, I would have chosen it over some previous purchases.

Shade: On Twitter, V-Loft pointed out that Charlotte Tilbury Walk of Shame Matte Revolution Lipstick is like the red edition of Bond Girl, which is reviewed and swatched here. I couldn’t agree more.

It’s a rosy brick-red, just shades away from the slightly more brown Bond Girl. Interestingly, I can’t find Bond Girl on the Charlotte Tilbury site. Maybe it got the chop because Walk of Shame was too similar? I’ve done a side-by-side swatch above, in case you’re torn between the two. Walk of Shame is on top, Bond Girl is on the bottom.

Texture: The formula, if you’re not sick of me harping on about it, is what all lipsticks ought to be. It’s lightweight, comfortable and nourishing. I don’t know how so many emollients were crammed into such a weightless lipstick.

Finish: As you’d expect, with that level of comfort, the finish isn’t fully matte. It’s much softer, and it reflects light. So, less of a traditional, flat matte look, more of a flattering, plump finish.

So, yeah, despite reading my boyfriend to filth, I’m pleased. It’s gorgeous, and there’s no shame in that game.

Oh I have been lusting over all of Charlotte Tilburry for far too long now! Why is is so damn pricey!? Nice listening skills on your boyfriends part.

That shade is the dream! Even with a less than appealing name. Love the idea you put it on and you are followed around by the terrifying Law and Order music all day. *dun dun*

Finally a good review of CT’s Walk of Shame! Clearly, your review made me wanting to buy WoS (I thought it was an awful name too). I want to get my hands on Bond Girl, but I am more of a red-hue lipstick person – I think this one’s for me. Thank you for sharing 🙂 (Will still buy Bond Girl – saw your review and it is just as lovely as your review here!)
