NYX Powder Blush in Taupe, €7.99. No press samples featured.
If I’m any kinda gal, I’m a slapdash contour kinda gal. I don’t think it’s an area where effort matches reward. You can go full Kim K and paint stripes across your face, but you’ll probably just look like you’ve gone full Kim K and painted stripes across your face, you know?
I like a blurry wash of colour just under my cheekbone, something that exaggerates the natural shadow of my, eh, cheek pit? Cheek hollow? Cheek nook? We’ll go with cheek nook. That’s where NYX Powder Blush in Taupe comes in.
I picked it up because it’s a cult favourite of ghost-faced beauty bloggers. State side, NYX is one of the most chatted about budget brands.
Powder Blush in Taupe’s texture is grand – nothing to write home/on a blog about. Not too dusty or powdery, but not mega creamy. Grand.
The selling point is its shade. Taupe is cool and leans a bit grey. It mimics the natural darkness that’s cast when your cheek bone protrudes over your cheek nook. That’s a tricky match especially for very pale complexions.
There’s no warmth, shimmer or glow to tell tales. It’s altogether very subtle and forgiving. I’m no dab hand with contour, and I really find it hard to feck up with this. Colour me impressed!
Here’s link on Viva Adonis to all of NYX’s Irish stockists, in case you want to give it a whirl too.
