There are a lot of things you can buy for your wedding day. You probably won’t need most of them, but even the weirdest, wildest accoutrements can seem necessary when you’re in the depths of a Pinterest binge. Like, I’m pretty sure somebody will print your initials and wedding date on rolls of toilet paper, if you’ve got the cash.
Don’t steal that idea, I might be onto something.
The latest ‘something new’ for your wedding day? A custom Snapchat filter! Be honest, are your eyes rolling or lighting up?
The feature is up and running across the US and UK, but we’ve got to wait a little longer in Ireland. More time to sketch out your designs, which – save for illegal references and copyright exclusions – can be pretty much anything. An anthropomorphised cat with a veil, a quote that you love, whatever.
The cost is fairly reasonable too. If you design your geofilter yourself, it looks like you can cover your reception for under a tenner.
My thoughts? It’s cute – I like personalised anything – but I feel, should you want to save the images, a geofitler might look weird in years to come. You know how photos from the 90s have the date in yellow at the bottom? Very like that, only with your tiny two-dimensional bride face.
So, is it something you would go for?
