I am beyond done with BB creams. Most come in just 3 colours (orange, citrine or tangerine) and I find it difficult to find a texture that I like. However, the dewy look that they create is my favourite finish. To get that without the greasiness and pain of poor colour matching, I opt for MAC Face and Body, €36.50.
It’s a fluid foundation, much runnier than most in my collection, so can be applied in very light increments. One application evens out skin tone and two gives a naturally polished effect. I apply this with my fingers and in thin layers, adding more to problem areas and leaving the best bits looking foundation free.
High colour, blemishes and dark circles won’t be totally erased, so I never use this without slapping some concealer on top. It tends to separate in the bottle, so shake it like you mean it before you pour any out. You could apply it with a brush, but I find it looks best when really worked into skin.
I’ve got MAC Face and Body in C1, which would be a touch too dark for me, only I’ve still got the remnants of fake tan on. Sexy, I know. It’s sheer enough to blend down your neck and onto your chest and the shade range is decent, so most should find a match.
What do we think? Are you content with BB creams or does a dewy base that lasts all day elude you?
