We’ve got something cheap and cheerful to round off the week – Rimmel Keep Calm Lip Balms, €2.99.
Rimmel Keep Calm Lip Balm in Rose Blush
This launch comes with no bold claims or pomp and ceremony, thank God. I’m sick of being told my brow pens will make my legs longer. No, this is just a fun collection of light balms with a hint of colour and bright, pretty packaging.
These aren’t intensive treatments, so don’t expect ’em to rescue totally chapped lips or take you through to winter. What they will do, however, is keep softness topped up throughout the day. They’re very like tinted Chapstick balms, only with a little more opacity.
The flavour isn’t noticeable after awhile, but the first waft is distinctly synthetic. It’s my only gripe with the collection, and I’m happy to let it slide for a bunch of balms that cost less than three quid.
Including the clear one, there are five shades. Violet Blush is a, eh, violet, Rose Blush is a warm red (I’m wearing it in the pic above, Pink Blush is Barbie pink and Berry Blush is a more red version of Violet Blush.
All are similarly sheer and, due to the balmy texture, are best used in just the one layer. Unless, of course, you like sloppy smudging. No judgement here.
The Rimmel Keep Calm Lip Balm lot launch in August, followed by a few more very interesting Rimmel bits and bobs. More on those later!
