Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Lorraine_Haigney 19th May 2014

Micellar Cleansing waters have trickled down from luxe brands to the chemist. Garnier  Micellar Cleansing Water, €6.29, is the newest budget micellar water that I’ve tried – and you’re probably going to want to give it a bash too. This stuff works.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review 2

Garnier  Micellar Cleansing Water has a short and simple formula – water as a carrier, oil molecules to cleanse and a binder to keep the water and oil from separating.

As a result, this removes makeup like a balm, oil or cream cleanser, but feels just like what comes out of your tap.

It’s fast for foundation, taking off every bit with a quick swipe of a saturated pad, but I’ve found that mascara is a bit harder to get rid off. A few seconds of holding a cotton disk over my eyes plus some gentle wiping works. It’s just a touch more time-consuming than a dedicate eye-makeover remover, but once you’re done, you’re done – there’s no greasy residue at all.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

I’ve been using my bottle for almost a month and there’s hardly a drop gone – plus I’m using less of my deep cleansers because they don’t have to work off makeup.

So, it might not look or feel like much of anything, but this is as powerful a pre-cleanse as any other. This is worth it’s weight in gold, never mind €6 and coppers.

Nice review I’ve wanted this for a while and then someone reviewed it saying it wasn’t as good as the L’Oreal version so I went off it…but now I want it again!

I do love the L’Oreal version too, but I flew through it. I don’t think it feels as gentle as this, but there’s not much between them.

Micellar waters haven’t hit the US yet at all, which I cannot understand – they’re so good! I ordered this from FeelUnique and my goodness does it work! We are seriously behind the times in the states.

Hi dear Lorraine, in this period I’m using the micellar water by l’oreal, I paid the 250 ml version 3,90 € !!
As you said..this stuff works, it’s easy and super fast!

Love that too! This was on offer when I picked it up, so not much of a difference in the price.

I love, love this stuff! I use other cleansing methods for removing my eye make-up – like baby oil, but for face cleansing, this is brilliant!

I love this too, I bought it by accident (thought I had picked the L’Oreal one up) but it’s great stuff. Haven’t even made a dent in it either and I’ve used it loads!
