Glamglow Thirsty Mud Review

Lorraine_Haigney 5th February 2015
Glamglow Thirstymud, €64.95. No press samples featured. Full disclosure policy here.

I bought a few things from Cloud 10 Beauty recently. You get three free sample-sized products with every order, and a few different Glamglow options were available. I chose Thirstymud, and have already endured enough jokes about being thirsty in the hip-hop sense, so less of that, please.

Glamglow Thirsty Mud Review

It’s the hydrating mask in the range, and is supposed to calm stressed skin too. The key ingredients here are emollients and antioxidants.

Straight from my first application (I got three full uses out of my sample), I was hooked. My skin instantly felt lovely; hydrated, smooth and soothed.

When I used it before bed, I just let it soak in overnight and woke up with soft skin. When I used it in the morning, I let it sit for about ten minutes, sprayed a thermal water on top and then wiped most of the residue off with tissue.

The texture of my skin was great, and the little lines I have around my eyes were way less noticeable. I looked rested! On the downside, the pores around my nose were more obvious. I’m not sure why, it’s never happened with other hydrating masks. That effect was temporary, and not major, but it did irk me a little bit.

If you find it hard to keep on your skin topped up with moisture,Glamglow Thirstymud is a great, easy fix. It works. Thumbs up!

The price is the only sticking point for me. If I pay for something with fancy-pants ingredients, I want the packaging to preserve them. The jar container seems a bit cheap, and everything I’ve read suggests that it’s not airtight enough to keep the product as effective as it is on day one.

So, the takeaway here is that I’m chuffed with my sample. It’s a brilliant booster, but not an essential. I really recommend choosing one if you place an order with Cloud 10. Shelling out for the full jar? Only if sixty eur0bux plus change isn’t a big deal for you.

I’ve been really hesitant to buy this even though my beautician keeps trying to push it on me! You’re right about the packaging .. it’s too cheapy looking. Jury’s still out on this one for me…

Exactly! I’d save up and buy the full thing if the packaging was in line with the individually wrapped eye gels.

I got the supermud when it was on sale on Cloud Ten and I used Pippa O’Connors discount code so it came in just over €40 which is still stupid for a pot of mud but anyway – I am whelmed. I’ve used it a few times now as a full mask and as a spot treatment and I’m not entirely sure what it’s supposed to do, because it doesn’t seem to really do anything?! It does leave my nose a bit clearer I suppose but I don’t know if it’s actually working or if I just think it is?! Anyway, I like the sound of one that you don’t have to wash down the sink, but I definitely won’t be buying any more of them!

I think there’s a limit with clay masks. All they’re supposed to do is clear your pores – I really doubt that there can be a 50 quid difference between the affordable ones and Glamglow options. I’d rather spend a bit more on my everyday cleanser and not really need a clay mask.
