L’Oréal Paris Infallible Mega Gloss, €11.99. Press samples featured.
If I say I’m going to do something, and that something is buying more makeup, you’d best believe I’ll keep my word. When they first launched, shades of the L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss Mattes were forever sold out. After harassing Boots employees and stalking the stands, I found the ones I was after – Forgive My Sin and Amen. The one I had already, The Bigger The Better, is reviewed and swatched here.
L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss Mattes are creamy, comfortable and not totally flat. The finish reflects light, only slightly. That dampens down the matte effect a bit, but it also creates fuller looking lips. Once applied, blot once to take away the sheen – that’s what I’ve done in the swatch of Amen above, the nude. With Forgive My Sin, I’ve left it as it looks pre-blot.
So, the first of the convent school titled glosses, Forgive My Skin, is a deep red with cool undertones. There’s a warmer, hot red in the Matte Range (Miami Vice? I think?) but Forgive My Sin won out because it makes my teeth look much whiter.
Amen is a muted peachy nude. It’s nice alone, but I like it best over my Penneys Lip Liner, blended lots for a very subtle ombre lip. The s-shaped applicator is great for applying in a rush or, in this case, creating a lighter wash of colour in the centre of your lips. I forgot to snap a picture (d’oh) but it’s exactly like the YSL Volupté Tint-in-Oil one. No surprises there, YSL and L’Oreal are part of the same brand family.
Like I said, these mattes are very creamy. They don’t set or cling, but their longevity is still top-notch – I get around four hours of wear before I top up. Bonus points, they don’t leave my lips feeling dry.
So, yes to these and more of these, please, L’Oreal. I’d do jail for this formula in more winter shades.

LOVE the look of that red. Really doesn’t look like a matte at all, lovely and creamy!

Forgive my sin looks like a stunning shade, might have to keep a look out for these when I next go into Boots

I’m honestly not a fan of anything with the word gloss in them but I think you just sold me on these, must swatch them the next time I am at the drugstore.
