L’Oréal Paris Infallible Mega Gloss Review/Swatches

Lorraine_Haigney 25th September 2015

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Mega Gloss, €11.99. Press samples featured.

This is huge launch. Twenty glosses in twenty shades, separated into five different finish categories. There are creams, extremes, neons, dazzles and mattes. Mattes. No prizes for guessing which one I rushed onto my lips first.

The Bigger The Better, Matte

Such a gorgeous texture; creamy, velvety and light. The finish is a very soft matte, more like a satin. It doesn’t set like a liquid lipstick, but the longevity is still superb. I’d top up around the four-hour mark.

There’s no transparency, one coat gives a full wash of colour. This one, The Bigger The Better, is a bold fuchsia. It’s nice, but you need to check out the nude and reds in the matte category. They’re beaut! Expect a celebratory Instagram post as soon as I get my hands on them.

Sayonara Sunset, Neon

This looks more like a traditional gloss. It’s transparent and has a shiny finish with no glitter. However, it doesn’t have the same sticky feel or thick consistency as typical glosses. It’s light, thinner and more comfortable. Longevity isn’t as strong as The Bigger The Better, but it’s not bad. Also, as it’s not opaque, you don’t notice it fade as much.

In the tube, Sayonara Sunset looks like a hot, bright pinky coral. When applied, it’s a lot more toned down. My natural lip colour shows through, so it’s a natural sort of pink.

Disco Ball, Dazzle

Disco Ball is right! This is a totally sheer gloss with flecks of golden glitter. I thought it looks a little bit frosty and dated in the tube, but it’s a different story once you apply it.

The glitter is in both smaller and larger chunks, and they’re sparsely distributed, you don’t get a solid metallic finish. Instead, it gives a very flattering shimmer. Probably not a goer if you’re headed to the office, but I think it’s a nice, subtle alternative to nude lips for a night out.

If you’re sold, check them out online. For some reason, they’re €3 cheaper from Boots.ie than they are in store. Also, at the time of writing this, there’s a 3-for-2 offer on L’Oreal.

I was under the impression that these are normal lip gloss so I wasn’t interested in them at all but after reading this review, I think I will pick up The Bigger The Better once my spending ban is done.
