L’Oreal Smokissime Powder Eyeliner Pen Review + Swatches

L’Oreal Smokissime Powder Eyeliner Pen, €11.99.  Press samples featured. Disclosure policy here.

I continued my spree of making mistakes so you don’t have to with the new L’Oreal Smokissime Powder Eyeliner Pen. Stay with me, because these liners are lovely – just not in the traditional liner sense.

L’OREAL SMOKISSIME POWDER EYELINER PEN REVIEW & SWATCHES

See those thick nibs? You’ll struggle to get a clean line with ’em. If you want something bold and graphic, you’re better matched with something like L’Oréal Super Liner Perfect Slim Intense. Smokissime is better, no, THE BEST, for scribbling on and buffing into an all-over wash of colour.

Brown Smoke is a beautiful, rich colour with lots of depth. Aside from my highlight shade, it’s the only lid product I’ve been using for a smoky eye. That’s not just because I’m a lazy little troll, it actually looks gorgeous solo.

Black Smoke isn’t anything special. It’s a bit murky, and easily duped by a billion budget black shadows. Skip this, get the brown. I’d love to see the shade range expanded – think how gorgeous Brown Smoke would be layered with a taupe or gold. Hommona.

BROWN SMOKE L’OREAL SMOKISSIME POWDER EYELINER PEN REVIEW & SWATCHES

Its creamy texture lends itself to speedy blending, but is prone to movement. I use an eye primer to fix it, because I think the effect is worth a bit of prep. Just be aware that this probably won’t last well on bare, oily lids.

Worth it? Totally. While it’s packaged differently, it reminds me of luxe cream-to-powder shadow pots that cost three times time price. In this case, I say treat yo’self!

Ohhh, the brown looks so gorgeous on you and that is a very pretty smokey eyes that you created. I am still on my makeup ban but once I’m done with it, I’ll look out for this.

Stay strong, Shireen! They’re not limited edition, you’ll be grand!

Hey, these kinda remind me of the loose eyeshadows Guerlain launched two summers ago (at least in terms of the applicator)! It’s a little misleading for them to call it a liner, but I like how Brown Smoke looks on you. I’m sure you can layer other eyeshadows over it for a really pretty look, too!

I know! I used it like a traditional liner first and it was a mess. No idea why they’re not just called shadows, but ah well!

Looks like a easy and quick early morning product, which I really need. I just can’t put too much effort into blending and shading at 5 am…

Nah, not at all! I’m lucky if I get my face washed AND dried at the hour.

These look so good! Your eyes look beautiful with the one you are wearing! I try to stay away from L’Oreal because they test on animals but they do have good products… if only they didn’t test on animals!

Animal testing has been banned in the EU for a couple years now 🙂 We’re good!
