You can return six empty MAC products and get a free lipstick. Nice one, ja? My latest Back to MAC swap was for MAC Crosswires lipstick – a total babe of a cosmetic.
You can call Cremesheen the basic-bish of MAC textures, I did, but this is spicy coral is changing my mind. It’s infused with beeswax, making it hella comfortable, but it doesn’t slip off.
The finish is a little glossy, amped up with barely-there shimmer. It’s nice. Ain’t nothing wrong with nice.
Now, onto the meaty bit – how do you go about this Back 2 MAC business?
You take six empty products back to MAC. Only some are eligible!
– You’ll see ‘Back 2 MAC” printed on the cardboard packaging of products that are in the recycling programme. You don’t need to keep the cardboard container.
– All compacts, pots, tubs, tubes, jars and bottles are accepted – there’s a full list on the MAC website.
– Some stores won’t take eyeshadow pots if they’ve been de-potted and are missing the silver pan. It’s hit-and-miss, but the official line is that de-potted products are not in the scheme.
-Products that come as part of a set have to be returned together and count only as one of your six. That’ll usually be Christmas minis.
That’s all, folks! The lipstick you get has to be from the main MAC line. Limited editions are off limits unless the packaging is the same as the main line, then you’re free to nab ’em.
So, with a few more empties piling up, I might be getting another freebie soon. Any recommendations?

I love MAC lippies, but my fave of their products are eyeshadows. I have the perfect everyday soft tones for my pale skin
