Watching Lisa Eldrige’s matchy makeup video, I thought ‘Hm, yes, I would like all areas of my face to match’ and so it was. I try to stay around the peachy, coral and warm pink section of the colour spectrum, so I made my face up with Nars Orgasm blusher, Mac Nymphette lipglass and Revlon Peach Parfait lip butter.
I can’t really talk about Nymphette lipgloss (€17.00) without clarifying that I think the name is as appropriate as a g-string at Sunday service. That aside, the actual product is beautiful. The peachy-pink gloss is shot through with generous amounts of gold shimmer and, like all Mac glosses, it’s super thick and sticky, making for great longevity.
Peach Parfait lip butter (€11.25) is very similar in shade to Nymphette, just slighty less pink. Though you wouldn’t think it from the way the blogosphere went (and is still going) crazy for ’em, lip butters are just tinted balms. This particular one deposits pretty flecks of glitter and an almost opaque wash of colour.
Cult/Kim Kardashian/My favourite blusher, Nars Orgasm (€28.23) , is hailed as a universally flattering blush and highlighter in one. It’s the same peachy pink that I’ve just spent two paragraphs celebrating. This imparts the faintest hint of colour if you’re using a light hand, but can be built up to bolder levels if that’s your bag.
Have you got any tried-and-tested shade combos?
