Max Factor Colour Corrector Sticks

Lorraine_Haigney 20th May 2014

I haven’t been getting on with Max Factor Colour Corrector Sticks, €10.99. I don’t mince my words when I love Max Factor, so it wouldn’t be fair to sugar coat the fact that these are off the mark.

The gloves are off, and the share-size Tiffin is open and ready to be guilt-eaten.

My main issue was the texture. It’s not creamy enough to sit comfortably over dry skin or fine lines.

The Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick in green, The Reducer, is tinted to dampen down redness. My high colour is mostly at the sides of my nose, and this same spot is prone to dryness.

So, despite an initial boost in the uniformity of my complexion, scribbling this on led to flaking by the end of the day. A thumbs up for the shade, a thumbs down for the finish.

The Brightener, a yellow under-eye corrector, fell down at the same chalky hurdle.  A matte finish around my eyes just accentuates puffiness and draws out fine lines – and I’ve already got Netflix to do both of those things.

The Illuminator, a glittery highlighter, wasn’t pigmented enough to do much of anything. Er, that’s all, folks. It just disappeared.

I didn’t have use for the other two Colour Corrector Sticks in the range, but I’ve swatched them in the pictures below. The Balancer, light pink, corrects dark spots and The Revitaliser, pale purple, brightness sallow skin.

Those are my two cents – do check out Tracey’s totally different take on ’em and excuse me while I go work out how to control weather so I can rain on more parades.

Totally 100% agree, saying this in advance as my review is written for later in the week and echoes a lot of what you’re saying!

Thanks for the heads up – won’t be needing to wait for this to launch.

Thank you so much for the honest review, I was wary when I first saw these popping up that they wouldn’t suit us dry skinned folk and I’m glad not to have to make a costly mistake in finding out for myself!

Glad I didn’t rush out and get these, was wary about how they would work on dry skin! Thank you!
