MooGoo MSM Soothing Cream, €15.70. No press samples featured. Disclosure policy here.
After blindly buying a moisturiser that ruined my skin, I ran out and blindly bought another. No research, no consultation, just a heart-over-head impulse decision. I needed something restorative fast, and MooGoo MSM Soothing Cream sounded like it’d do the trick.
First off, there’s a really cute cow on the tube. Secondly, the box it comes in is shaped like a milk carton. 10/10, A+, a whole pack of gold stars.
The ingredient list is full of gentle emollients; coconut oil, sweet almond oil and olive oil are at the top of the pile. Also included is a bit of jiggery pokery that’s new to me – organic sulfur (MSM). From what I’ve read, it’s suppose to soothe and hydrate.
Its consistency is kinda odd. It doesn’t feel like it’ll be easily absorbed, but it is. I use a half pump for my whole face, and a full one if I want to do my neck as well. After a few minutes, there’s no residue.
So, throw back to my first application, when my skin was on fire and looked like the Devil’s elbow. I whacked this on and damn, I was impressed. My skin felt less sore almost instantly. The prickly heat cooled, the stinging stopped. In around a week, all the blotchy signs of my reaction were tamed.
D’mother has been enjoying it too. Her skin is more sensitive than mine. She’s got fewer wrinkles than I do, but her skin flares up if you look at it funny. A blob of this and a drop of rosehip oil is her favourite blend for night time.
While its aim is specific, to fix irritated skin, I’ve carried on using it. The boatload of natural, rich emollients are keeping my skin soft, and its light texture sits well under makeup. There’s no SPF, but I get that from my foundation – YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat.
I’m back to my former glory, which, alright, might not be that glorious, but it’s better than the blotch-fest that was my complexion.
There’s a list of MooGoo stockists in Ireland here, and you can buy online from that same site, if you’re interested.

I saw this brand sold in one of the pharmacy in Malaysia, I was curious but I don’t remember ever coming across a review for it. Wish I have this in hand the last time my skin went bonkers due to a facial wash, would have helped soooo much!

I think the brand’s launch in other countries was fairly recent – there’s yet to be a big buzz about it! It was the branding and desperation that sucked me in.

Running out and blindly buying another, I can totally relate! Despite telling myself over and over again to do my research beforehand.
Glad it worked out this time.

The packaging is so cute! I love that it has a cow on it. My skin is a nightmare right now, this sounds like it would fix it up a treat! xx

Moogoo also have a cream specifically for eczema and psoriasis. It’s pretty awesome but I’m not sure where you can buy it (I’m in Australia so I can get my hands on it pretty easily)

Thanks for reviewing such a great Australian brand. I use their shampoo, conditioner, anti-ageing cream, msm cream, eye serum, deodorant and bb cream. They are all fantastic as I have quite sensitive skin and cannot use ordinary supermarket shampoos for example. MooGoo are also a very ethical company: they refused a large contract with Chinese companies because they would have had to test on animals.

Oooh, interesting!

Great review, I am going to recommend to a friend with sensitive skin. I have been using their anti-ageing face cream with SPF and I’m hooked. I reviewed it on my blog a while back if you want to know more: http://jolinaturellement.com/2015/06/20/moogoo-anti-ageing-spf-15-face-cream/
