Lads. LADS. I’m excited. I haven’t been this taken with a product since I discovered that Tesco do reduced-fat hummus. In August, I was sent a bottle of the newly-launched Skin Superfood, €12.95, by Bia Beauty. It’s a totally Irish brand, entirely handmade and centred on natural formulations. I won’t lie, I was expecting to get a nice moisturiser in a nice bottle from a nice company.
Well, feck nice, this does things to me. Strange but wondrous things happen from the moment I apply it. While other moisturisers leave me looking shiny, this imparts a healthy, well-hydrated glow. I’ve got fine lines aplenty, especially around my eyes, and this plumps them up like no other. On day one of wearing this, with nothing else on mind you, I was asked if I’d been for a facial.
The only moisturiser I’ve tried that’s had such immediate cosmetic effects was All Day, All Year by Sisley, and that will set you back close to €300. Nope, I didn’t forget a decimal point. Three hundred eurobux – almost 25 times the price of Skin Superfood.
The ingredients are top-notch, it’s packed with antioxidants and emollients – all derived from plants. The cherry on top is the inclusion of salicylic acid. It might sound scary, but it’s a gentle and ultra effective treatment for everything from eczema to acne.
Across all beauty fields, makeup included, this Bia Beauty number is my favourite release of the year. Are you loving any new discoveries?
