October Favourites! Topshop, Max Factor, Bourjois + Catrice

Lorraine_Haigney 6th November 2013

It’s just as well that I started posting on my monthly favourites – so many of my new beauty bits have turned out to be the cat’s pyjamas, slippers and night cap.

Aussie Miracle Recharge Moisture Spray

I knew there was something special about Bourjois Color Edition 24 Hour Cream-to-Powder shadow, €8.99, in Petale de Glace  from day one.

Application is as easy finger painting, it works well alone or as a base and its finish is altogether stunning – a soft, sophisticated shimmer that says ‘Get me, I’ve got my life together!’

Pale Pebble, €6.99, from the new Max Factor Wild collection is a nude shadow, great for masking redness or veins around eyes. As it’s shot through with delicate flecks of glitter, I’m also packing it onto my brow bone for a daytime-appropriate highlight.

I’d never been big on Aussie hair products until Miracle Recharge Moisture Spray, €5.09, came into my life like BAM! LOVE ME! And oh, I do.

A quick misting of this over slept-on curls flattens frizz and smooths frayed strands back into shape. Super extra bonus points for its bubble gum scent.

Look at the size of the dent I made in Topshop Crescent Moon highlighter, €14.99. That’s a month of obsessive use on cheekbones, inner-eye corners and cleavage – because there’s nothing like a festive face and décolletage combination.

Sticking with all that glistens, this gold shadow pencil, €8.99, gets dragged over my eyelids on days when I’m short on time but high on a glitter fix.  Makeup Monster’s got a full review of the range, but Brazen Gold is my favourite.

It packs a colour punch that most creamy liners don’t and sets to a drier consistency, no smudging or fading.

Nothing gets my pulse racing like a cool brown shadow. Starlight Expresso by Catrice, €2.99, is so cool, so brown and so good at adding bulk to sparse brows.

That’s my lot! Until next month.

That brow shadow looks perfect, almost grey, I could get on board with it if I knew where the heck to buy Catrice in england x
