The arrival of a press pack and Olay Regenerist CC Cream through my postbox was met with initial excitement, followed by a morning of tutting on Twitter. At €27.99, it’s hitting the start of spendy-spendy territory – something I didn’t expect from Olay. Months later, I realise that I’ve been reaching for this more often than I have other products, pricier products.
It functions wonderfully as a three-in-one cosmetic and skincare cream, so ’tis a grand shame altogether that I wrote it off as overpriced before I gave it a chance. On the skincare side of things, it’s got antioxidants, SPF 15 and hella wrinkle-smoothing emollients. I can’t attest to the sun-spot reducing claims, but this smooths on and leaves my skin feeling comfortably soft all day.
Coverage is sheer and the finish it provides is dewy, I’ve set it in place with Mac Mineralize Skinfinish powder here, and then tilted my head to the side because FRIENDLY POSE. And yep, that’s my washing on the sink. I had scrambled eggs, they were a delight.
ANYWAY, the colour correcting promise is fulfilled – check my cheeks and nose, they’re totally uniform! It’s rare that foundations take care of my redness without looking too heavy but this does the job.Big thumbs up from me and my high-colour mug. Really Ree has done great before and after pictures on her blog, she’s mad for the stuff.
So, all in all, it’s brillzo. That’s the good news. The better news? It’s currently on a 1/3 off promotion at Boots, so a bottle will set you back a much more purse-friendly €18.66. Your finance’s back, I’ve got it.
