I’ve almost used up my first haul of The Ordinary products. The first of the gang to die was the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 serum. It’s the brand’s answer to dehydration – a lightweight, watery treatment that helps skin hold onto moisture.
The obvious good side to this, and any The Ordinary skin care, is that it’s cheap. Always a plus. But I’m worried that we’re getting so caught up in the price that we’re letting some stuff slide. I mean, the selling point is that these are simple, effective products. We really shouldn’t be losing our shiz just because they’re reasonably priced too.
So, with that in mind, I want to issue the warning that this isn’t it magic potion. It does, however, work.
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 slots nicely into my routine. I feel like it does help my skin retain moisture, and its lightness sits well under makeup. It’s not nearly as sticky as hyaluronic-based treatments tend to be, which I really appreciate.
Ladies and gentlemen, that it is. There’s nothing more to it.
Worth the eight quid? Yeah, I think so. I am a skin care snob, so I miss some of the bells and whistles that come with more expensive serums. It doesn’t instantly cool or soothe like a lot of hydrating serums do. And, while I know those effects are superficial, I appreciate them when they’re combined with actual results.
So, it’s a personal taste thing. If you’re skin needs sorting and you don’t want to splurge, this is only €8 and won’t let you down.
While we’re on the topic, what are you loving for hydration?
