In June, I got into the strobing trend. Yep, I know it’s just rebranded, only slightly reworked contouring, but I like it. Dress it up however you like, I am always in favour of heavy highlighter.
So, as I haven’t done a favourites post in a while, I thought I’d lump the beauty bits I’ve been using to make my face sparkly in with my top overall products of the month. Let’s begin!
MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil In Anticipation, €20
I bought this to pair with my new favourite nude, MAC Viva Glam II. It’s lovely with that, but I’ve recently been taking the lazy way out, wearing the liner with just a little bit of clear lip balm on top. It’s comfortable, its staying power is great and the rosy shade is so flattering. It’s bright, but also soft and natural. A great match for fresh, radiant complexion products.
MAC Lightscapade Mineralize Skinfinish, €30
Never mind monthly favourites, Lightscapade is probably my favourite highlighter of all time. It’s high-impact frost in an icy shade that sits beautifully on pale skin. Using a light hand, I get away with this in the daytime, every day. For night, you can build it up to ‘hey, have you stuck a trip of tinfoil on your face?’ levels. If you fancy getting in on the strobing trend, this is a fast pass.
If you’re an Hourglass-style subtlety fan, skip it. This one is for those seeking a major glow. For swatches, pop over to my MAC Lightscapade Mineralize Skinfinish review and swatch post.
Isadora Protect Face Primer SPF 30, €21.25
Mattifying primers are a dime a dozen, but getting a great hydrating one is a little bit more difficult. My favourite dewy base is Isadora Protect Face Primer SPF 30 (full review).
This shines without the help of shimmer, so doesn’t have the pore-enlarging side effect of glitter-based formulas. The glow is all in the super-moisturising cream. I’m teaming it with YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat for a double dose of radiance.
*Garnier Dry Mist SPF 50, €22.99
I’ve done enough talking about how this is the best (and only) SPF that works over makeup; there’s not a chance of this making your dewy base slip off. Now that the weather is hot enough to ditch the deniers, I’ve been getting my legs out and this is the only thing I’ll have on ’em The beauty of Garnier Dry Mist SPF 50 is its matte finish.
Cream and oil sun protection has a habit of collecting behind my knees when I sit down, then feeling sticky and looking, well, suspicious. This keeps my legs smooth, dry and protected. Also, it’s great up top if you’re not a fan that oily cleavage shine that comes with sun cream.
What have you been loving this month?

Love the new blog design! I like that it’s all coral and summery.
I still have to pick up that Garnier spray. Might nip to Boots at lunch as it’s perfect weather for it.

The blog looks gorgeous, as do you! Love the sound of that Garnier Spray and keep forgetting to buy it. I bet you the day I buy it, it rains. Haven’t a clue what strobing is, I’m all proud of myself for finally nailing contouring (kinda) so this is the next hurdle!

Strobing = contouring without the darker shade. Basically making your face super glowing, like a strobe light.
And thank you! 😀 First time ever I’m happy with the design!
