Another one for the Pale Foundation Series Hall of Fame Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation, €7.95, in Light Porcelain. I’m converted. It’s going to be many moons until I spend double figures on foundation
Foundations that provide a matte finish are usually pretty hefty in the coverage they offer. Not this lad. Its mousse texture lends itself to a natural, freckle-flashing level of coverage – perfect if you have oilier skin but don’t want the masking effect of traditional matte options.
The shade is a match for Rimmel Wake Me Up, also in Light Porcelain. It’s one of the lightest budget foundations I’ve found, close to MAC NW10.
As you’d expect from a matte number, this stays around all day. I’ve got dry skin, and the above photo was snapped before Superfacialist came into my life, so dry patches weren’t totally invisible.
Rimmel Stay Matte lives in a squeezy tube. It’s not as easy on the eye as a glass bottle, but sure look, it’s what’s on the inside that counts – plus you’re going to get every drop of foundation out, and it’s not going to smash during transport.
We like! There’s one more pasty option from the Rimmel range to come. Check me out later in the week.

Pure ghosty! 🙂

I must try this out. I’ve been using the Rimmel Stay Matte primer for the last week or so & it’s very good, out performing primers 4 times the price at keeping foundation on my combo skin & oily nose. It’s great that the palest shade is actually pink based for once as they’re almost always yellow based I find.

Yeah – once you get a pale shade, you’ve then to hunt for a proper undertone. So glad I found this!

The next Rimmel review might be for you so!
