Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation Review

Lorraine_Haigney 25th February 2014

If the scientists working on the formula of Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation had been working on getting pigs to fly, we’d all be eating cloud-enriched bacon. This stuff is brilliant.

It’s €10.99 but it feels like a luxury foundation – rich, creamy and moisturising. This translates onto skin, smoothing over dry areas and wearing comfortably, without flaking, all day.  Altogether, perfect for dry, fatigued or mature skin.

The Rimmel Wake Me Up shades available range from really pale – I’m wearing Light Porcelain – to medium tanned.

Pleasant surprises abound, its thick texture won’t affect your blending game. Using fingers, brushes or sponges, this spreads like hot gossip at a bingo hall.

There’s a smattering of silver glitter that’s supposed to deliver on the radiant glow promise – but you can’t make a radiant glow out of tiny glitter fragments, and that’s what we have here. Only noticeable in direct sunlight, they’re of no real consequence.

All in all, it’s great and I’m pleased. I can almost push the Rita Ora collaboration out of my mind. Delighted.

Some chemists don’t have all the shades, I was surprised when I saw the lighter one in Boots too! Am nearly sure it’s stocked online too.
