More than anything, beauty dupes are great at reeling in readers. Most of the time, when a budget product is declared to be a dupe, the finer details are glossed over. Like, yes, Astral All Over Moisturiser and Crème de la Mer are both moisturisers that come in pots, but, y’know the ~spooky~ similarities end there – even if it does make for crap clickbait.
So, when Seventeen Skin Wow Concealer popped up in its YSL-style jacket, questions about its dupe status weren’t far behind. The verdict? One of these things is not like the other. Seventeen Skin Wow Concealer is yellow-toned, of thin consistency and has a lightly radiant finish. It’s swatched on my middle finger, in the picture below. Touche Éclat is peach, more creamy and its finish is more dewy – it’s the one on my index finger. Really, the similarities end with the packaging.
Now, different doesn’t mean better or worse. It does a grand job of brightening, correcting and concealing. Plus, the brush applicator is a great time saver – you’ve got half your blending done before you’ve started.
In fact, it’s the under-eye brightener I’ve reached for most over the last month. It’s not as strong as my other regulars, Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector, or Bobbi Brown Corrector in Porcelain Bisque, but it’s easier to work with, and it tackles everyday darkness without a hitch. If you need a bit of a boost and want it done snappy, Seventeen Skin Wow Concealer is worth trying.
