MAC Viva Glam II, €19.50. MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil In Anticipation + MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil Spice, €20. No press samples featured.
Welcome to episode one of what happens when sales assistants know their stuff. I wandered into MAC without any intention of buying another lipstick and ended up leaving with one. A really, really great one. Viva Glam II pulls a crafty switcheroo.
Top – Viva Glam II with Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Spice
Bottom – Viva Glam II with Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in In Anticipation
Alone, it’s a neutral, nude pink. Had the sales assistant not shown me it over different liners, I wouldn’t have given it a second look.
See, its tone is so muted that you can alter it with amazing ease, for any variation on nude that you can think of. When I want a warm nude, I use it with Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in Spice. For a rosy nude, I go with Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in In Anticipation.
All those liners that I’d normally only put with their matching lipsticks are getting put through their paces. Also, you can slick it on over bolder shades that you want to make more subtle.
One lipstick, a zillion different ways to wear it. For neon-lip devotees like me, it’s the perfect fix. Less money spent on everyday nudes, more to spend on another orange.

Wow, a nude chameleon. That truly is a gem, and one that I have never heard of before!

Oh wow, I don’t think I have any lipsticks that change with lip liners as this so definitely one worth picking up when I next visit a Mac store.

Hope you like it 🙂

Love this nude on you! I also bought it a long time ago I just have to remind myself to use it more, I think I have too many nude lipsticks :)) I love the Viva Glam line cause it’s all for a good cause so I feel good about spending my money 🙂

Thanks, Beti! I’ve got the same logic – it’s not spending if it’s a donation, surely!
Emma (fluff and fripperies)
That first photo is just perfection!

Thanks, Emma!

I love this shade, reminds me of Mac Mocha. It’s nice that you can alter it with the liner. 🙂

I love this lipstick, and I love these photos! They look like ones from a MAC campaign, so gorgeous.

Awh shucks, thank you!

Very creative and I agree on the photo loving!

I got a new remote control for the camera, it’s such a huge help 🙂 Thanks for the feedback!

It looks so completely different depending on the liner! A very nice versatile shade.

Now that’s a fancy nude! One that you’re sure to get your moneys worth too. I actually have a few of the Viva Glams, but not this one. I’ll be sure to check it out next time I’m at MAC.

Ooh, jealous – this is my first and only! I’m a reforming brights fiend!
Becca
Hmm I like how you’re trying to justify it at the end – ‘one lipstick a zillion ways to wear’. Whatever you need to tell yourself to justify buying it! It is gorgeous, however, in its defence. Good splurging!

Totally justifiable! I haven’t bought a nude since (in a whopping two weeks!).

Love how this lipliner changes with just a simple addition of a lip liner! Effectively two lipsticks for the price of one 😉 x
