I did it again! I went to Topshop. I’ll be wearing a t-shirt with glaring cat eyes across the boobs next.
I had a quick look the cream blushers (Flush, Afternoon Tea and Head Over Heels) on my highlighter-finding mission but the display had been robbed of its testers. After falling so deeply in love with Crescent Moon, I knew I had to give the blushers a chance.
On my second trip, the stand was out of testers. The Lord tests me, you guys. After some begging, the sales assistant opened Head Over Heels and, after more begging, I was allowed to swatch it. Creamy, peachy and bold – it went straight into my basket. At €9, I still had a whole euro to spend on whatever I fancied (I fancied a Galaxy bar).
Its cream-to-powder formula is thin enough to work into skin without disturbing foundation, while pigment-packing properties impart a strong wash of colour. I’m a divil for the Aunt Sally look, but fans of more subtle shades should get away with this if they apply a little and blend a lot.
The finish is more velvety than dewy and there’s not a trace of shimmer to be found, making this stick around for longer without the risk of highlighting pores.
I didn’t foundate my bad self in the above picture, just concealed the demonic circles around my eyes and finished with powder. I was going for the natural-but-not-dead look, and Head Over Heels suits that very well. It provides in for a fresh, healthy flush and its soft, peachy tone works to liven up pale skin.
All in all, I’m feeling pretty jammy with this new budget fave. I might make another trip to Topshop before the year is out.

Thanks fors sharing a “new find”. I love to read posts about products from brands I haven’t heard a lot about.

Yeah, they don’t get lots of attention here! Probs because they’re not very widely available. I’ll be trying more when I can fund ’em 🙂

I’ve swatched Topshop lipsticks before and they look lovely, but I don’t own any of their makeup. It’s a pet peeve of mine when there are either no testers, or they are super messed up… grrr 🙂

I know! There were three tweens at the display this time, putting makeup directly on and chattering away. Slinked in under ’em and grabbed!

I have this too, it’s one of my favourite blushers, very pretty.

Fast becoming a favourite for me too!

Lovely on you, I really like the Topshop makeup line it has some great little finds in there and I think these blushers are well priced (and if you get a galaxy bar out of the change all the better!)
Lorraine Haigney
They are! Probs the cheapest blusher I own, now that I think of it.
