Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer, €22. No press samples featured.
I don’t know why I’m not content with my Collection concealer. It’s a ten out of ten, but the fact that it’s so great and so cheap makes me think that there must be another on the market that’s an eleven out of eleven.
That poor logic has led me to Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, which was actually lovely, and now, this. The Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer.
Left – Concealer Applied Right -No Concealer
First off, shout out to the brand for a pretty good shade range. Fair Neutral, mine, is super pale. Secondly, boring but true, the packaging is swell. It looks pretty but simple, and I’m all about a doe-foot applicator. Easy, clean and safe for travel.
The performance, for me, wasn’t as straightforward. I had good days and bad days. When it’s good, it settled well and brightened up my dark circles with a little coverage and a radiance finish. When it’s bad, it’s patchy and sits on top of my base.
Why? I wish I knew. I use the same base products. My skin condition doesn’t fluctuate that much, day to day. Granted, a lot of the off days have been days when I’m under-slept, but isn’t that what concealer is supposed to fix?
In terms of texture, the above picture shows what it’s like on a good day. Smooth with no creasing. Nice! I was working off about three hours sleep that day, so coverage was really put to the test. Still, I do think most of what goes on is brightening – it doesn’t take down colour too well. I’d team it with a corrector if, like me, you’ve got dark circles.
I just don’t feel much about it. I don’t dislike it, I’ll finish the tube. Still, the hype is lost on me. I don’t get why its fallen into favour with bloggers so much. It’s grand, but only grand.
