YSL Top Secrets Instant Moisture Glow, €30. No press samples featured.
I like a rich moisturiser for winter. I always try to have one that will blur over dry patches, a nose that’s been almost worn off with tissues and dehydration from central heating. That’s where this fella comes in, YSL Top Secrets Instant Moisture Glow.
There is not a grain of exaggeration in saying this creates an instant moisture glow. In fact, I’m pretty peeved that they’ve titled this moisturiser so well, because it leaves me with very little to add. I mean, we really could just down tools at that. But hey, if there’s one thing I learned in school, it’s that you can always force yourself up to the top of a word count. So, BULLET POINT PARTY TIME!
- It feels wonderful, particularly on skin that’s parched. Instantly (see!? they stole my line) soothing, comforting and cooling.
- That feeling lasts, even when you’re up against matte foundation and central heating.
- Priming is YSL Top Secrets Instant Moisture Glow’s secondary task, but it primes better than most hydrating primers I’ve tried, which is bloody impressive.
- Lightweight texture doesn’t equal scant moisture – it’s actually super rich. I’ve just bought a second tube for my mother, and her skin has never looked better.
Hydration in spades, in seconds. Great stuff altogether!

Ooh, I love the sound of this! I need something that makes me look like I’ve had a good sleep & a pint of water too! xx

This sounds lovely I’ll have to take a swatch of it tomorrow. Just a quick question as your skin is on the dry side too, what foundation would you recommend for a glowy natural look that’s also longlasting? I’m talking bridal stuff here and I’m unsure what to try as I normally stick to BB Creams. I’m trying out Dior Star and liking it but it’s not especially long lasting so I’m not sure!

Hmm, I’m not sure! I find that you sacrifice longevity a little if you want a lot of glow. Maybe the Laura Mercier Radiance Primer underneath something like YSL Le Teint, but with an oil control primer where you need it? My top three glowers are Dior Star, YSL Le Teint and that new Bobbi Brown Serum one.

Love Star, have a sample of the Bobbi Brown one I got off the counter that I’m going to try tomorrow and I’ll take a look at YSL! It can be hard to get the right balance between longevity and glow!
